Oreo the Cookie Cat

Happy 4th of July to all of my US readers! I hope everyone has a safe & awesome day today.

It's been nothing but weight-loss talk lately, so I thought I'd throw in a kitty entry as well.

I haven't talked much about Oreo. He's kitty #12 and about 5 years old. He joined the household last fall before Miya passed. Adam's grandparents couldn't keep him insider anymore because they were worried about tripping over him (his grandmother has osteoperosis). So we decided to take him in.

Hellew

We like to call him Cookie Cat, O-o, and Oleo. He's a good cat. He's quiet & generally keeps to himself.

I may be quiet, but I'm possessive. This is MY DUCKY. You can't touch. Got it?

Unfortunately, his arrival caused quite a stir. He took over Scamper's stomping grounds, which cause a big to-do between those two that has lasted for months. Tiger, Bagheera, & Maggie also tend to chase him. It was all of this squabbling that eventually led to anxiety medication for Tiger and calming collars for Bagheera, Maggie, & Tiger to help keep the peace.

OMG. Are they behind me? Please tell me they're not behind me!

We hope with time the warring kitties will calm down a bit more. This has definitely led us to the decision that this is definitely the maximum amount of kitties we can have to keep the delicate peace.

He is always there to say goodbye to me in the mornings as I head off to work. I grab my bag and spend a few minutes scratching his ears. Then he watches me through the window before settling down for a nap.

Mommy will be home soon. Zzzz...

He has markings similar to what Betsy had, but I can't bring myself to call him "cow-kitty". She was my special cow-kitty. But that's OK, because he's my one & only "cookie cat".

  1. SO handsome, the Cookie Cat!

And cookie cats have no calories! Yay! (So you can indulge all you want and no worries about having to exercise off all that Cookie Cat!)

(I'm tired, so if this comment makes no sense, I apologize)
